in the form of a new motor from Australia. (Who would have guessed that’s where they keep the spare Hudson Straight 8’s !)

Yes! It is also home to re-manufactured Hudson engines, of all things.
It seems like a strange place to find one. But it’s Australia, so I should perhaps start expecting the unexpected from it!
If there is anyplace to expect the unexpected, I expect that Australia would be it.
