Heidi is Out and About
At the beginning of September while Dad was doing a training run through West Seattle , Dad stumbled upon Hudo, a 1930 Hudson, parked in the neighborhood. When Dad looked up Hudo and Hudo’s driver, Heidi Hetzer, he discovered that Heidi is a 78-year-young former automobile dealer, rally car driver, classic car collector and popular celebrity in Berlin, Germany. She is currently circumnavigating the globe in Hudo. She started in July 2014 in Berlin, and in late August, was passing through Seattle. Her website is http://heidi-around-the-world.com/about/

Mongo Tries to Make Cornbread
Mongo got into the pantry again. Someone left the gate to the stairs open, and Mongo went down to the pantry, and maybe he even opened the folding doors to the pantry. This time he picked out corn meal. After eating most of the corn meal, Mom-mon came home and found him. Mom-mom was so mad, she drew up this sign. Dad wondered what color this poop would be.

Around the World in a 1930 Sedan
Dad was thundering around a corner in West Seattle on a training run, when he noticed an unusual automobile parked in the driveway of one of the homes along the street. Though Dad is an accomplished foot racer, and very dedicated to his training, but just like Mongo, he is also known for almost never passing up the opportunity for a quick break from his cardio training to investigate something unusual along his route.
Here was a 1930’s sedan with all kinds of custom paint along its sides. This was just too good to pass up. Dad stopped and looked it over, particularly since Dad really enjoys unique old automobiles. (Click HERE to see pictures from Dad’s recent visit to the Port Orchard car show.)
The name of the driver on the car was Heidi Hetzer. The car itself appeared to be christened “Hudo”. Dad made a note to look into this mystery further on the internet. Read More…
Cycling around the Sound
Dad decided to join the Cascade Bicycle Club for a tour around the Puget Sound. The trip started at the Fauntleroy Ferry Docks on Saturday morning. Dad met the other riders, and then the ride leaders explained the rules and safety precautions. Dad was decked out in his bright biking clothes and helmet and was ready to go.
Paddlewheeler on Lake Union
Though she’s been out of scheduled service since 2010, the Queen of Seattle can still be seen cruising around the lake on fair days. As seen in this recent pictures taken from the 15th St. Bridge, the Queen of Seattle still occasionally traverses Salmon Bay. The Queen was recently featured in an article in the Seattle times.
